Game Technologies

What I did
This coursework focused on game technologies such as Physics, Networking, AI, and UI. We had to create a game where you were in a maze collecting packages and had to deliver them all while avoiding an enemy AI that roams the maze. We were given a bare-bones framework that we had to develop upon and integrate different aspects of each of these technologies such as:
- Newtonian Physics
- Collisions
- Multiplayer
- Pushdown Automata for UI
- State Machines for AI
How I expanded on the given base:
I also went beyond the required specifications to test my skills. This included doing:
- Data-Driven text based level creator for quick maze level development.
- Server-Client network Architecture for multiplayer.
- Orientation constraint for obstacles.
- Pathfinding and State Machine for AI to roam maze.
What I Learned:
Through this coursework, I learned how these systems work to create a game engine and the importance of different aspects of engine development such as the difference between a Server-Client architecture and a peer-to-peer architecture and how they affect the game.
